Astoria seafood always delivers great fresh seafood. The staff is friendly and quick. Can be long lines on weekend but it moves quickly. Peak times are around 7 pm so plan accordingly. We had sea bass (grilled), red snapper (grilled), shrimp (grilled and fried) scallops (grilled and fried), calamari (grilled and fried) and grilled asparagus, French fries, grilled corn, and spinach pie w a Greek salad. A true feast and all for under $150 fed 5 people. It's byob so plan for that too. Eat outside it's like a bunch of people having one giant picnic. Our neighbors from Ecuador at table beside us even poured us shots of the tequila they were drinking.

I can't rave enough about Astoria Seafood, especially since it's practically in my backyard. Living close by, I've had the pleasure of visiting this gem multiple times, and it never disappoints. I recently went there with a few friends for a casual night out, and we had an amazing time. The experience starts as soon as you walk in--you're greeted by the sight of fresh seafood on ice, and you get to handpick what you want. It's like a seafood lover's dream come true! We selected a variety of seafood, including lobster, shrimp, and scallops. After choosing our catch, we handed it over to the friendly staff, who cooked everything to perfection. The atmosphere is casual and bustling, with communal tables that encourage a social and lively dining experience. We were seated next to a group celebrating a birthday, and the joyous energy was contagious. The food itself was fantastic and oh-so-yummy. The grilled shrimp were juicy and flavorful, the lobster was tender and sweet, and the scallops were perfectly seared. We also tried the Greek salad, which was fresh and tangy, a perfect complement to our seafood feast. Every bite was a delight, and it's hard to find such fresh and delicious seafood anywhere else. One of the highlights of the night was the BYOB policy. We brought our favorite wines, and it made the evening feel even more personalized and fun. Sharing a bottle of wine and enjoying our seafood spread with friends was a delightful experience. Service was friendly and attentive, despite the busy environment. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and were always ready to help with a smile. Overall, Astoria Seafood offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience that stands out for its fresh, delicious seafood and vibrant atmosphere. It's a place where you can relax, eat well, and make great memories. Living so close, I'm lucky to have this amazing spot just around the corner.

Worth all the hype, definitely some of the energy seafood I've had in the city. Very kind service for a place that has such a good reputation, will keep people coming back forever. Cannot recommend more

A no frills, cooked to order seafood spot! You go inside and pick your seafood - everything from whole fish to different sizes of shrimp to scallops - and tell them whether you want it grilled or fried. They also have freshly tossed Greek salad, lemon potatoes and fries as sides! Once you order inside, you grab a table inside or outside (plenty of seating), enjoy your BYOB and wait for your freshly cooked seafood! It can be a little chaotic inside and it's always crowded so I'd recommend arriving earlier than 7pm for dinner to get a table. The food here is delicious and so affordable! I can't wait to some back here again.

An array of seafood options awaits at this establishment, where customers can choose their preferred seafood from the back and have it either grilled or fried, priced by the pound. Our recent selections included lobster tail, scallops, sea bass, salmon, jumbo shrimp, salad calamari, and head-off fried shrimp, totaling to $136. The sea bass and salmon stood out for their delectable flavors, leaving a strong impression that encourages a return visit to sample more offerings.

This place is chaotic but people love it for a reason! If you love seafood this place is definitely for you! Not to mention BYOB and decently priced for seafood!! You basically walk in, pick out your seafood, line up to pay and you tell them how you want it cooked along with your name for the order. After you pay, you wait in another line for a table and once you're seated they ask you for your name and then they start cooking your food. Honestly don't know how they do it but their system works. I came here on a Friday night around 6p and didn't wait too long but the place got superrrrr packed as I was leaving. Be warned this place is so stressful at first but once you figure out how it works, you'll have a blast. No frills, good food, good company, and BYOB! What more can you ask for!

First things first: Judge the place based on their process and their food concept. So, the idea is the freshest seafood, cooked to your specifications while you wait. You can bring your own bottle [of alcohol] (BYOB) and they have more sides than you'll ever need to complement your main seafood selections. The decor should be judged like you would a fish market. That's kind of what this place is, an elevated, higher-level-of-service fish market. The place can get really crowded during the winter during the dinner rush. You may find that a lot of people could be standing or passing by your table as you eat. It's not ideal but again, this is not your conventional, compartmentalized restaurant. So don't treat it that way. I recall having clams, calamari, scallops and some whiting, among other things. It came out hot right to my table. The waitstaff and busboys do not mess around. They deliver and clear down VERY quickly, which is to be expected when space is at a premium. I recommend bringing in some chilled white wine or light beer to pair with your meal. I would also note here that it is VERY easy to order too much food. We ordered close to the right amount but didn't finish. Bottom Line: Don't treat this like a conventional seated dinner at a fancy restaurant. Leave any pretentiousness at home. Bring your expectations into line with the concept they are clearly executing at a high level and you'll leave happy. For the best experience, I suggest going during the warm weather months. Sit outside, pop open a bottle of wine and enjoy the freshest seafood meal you could ever have!
